Took my faithful Cannondale Jekyl mountain bike out for spin class yesterday. Thanks are in order for mother nature who cranked up the fire road temperatures to around a sizzling 93 degrees to close out April. F.U. Apart from that ... sweaty fun stuff.
The loop was this ... cheseboro canyon trail, modelo trail, palo comado connector trail, palo comando canyon trail, china flats trail, palo comado canyon trail, sheep corral trail, cheseboro ridge trail, canyon view trail, and cheseboro canyon trail.
Which I realize that if you've never ridden there sounds like ... blah blah blah trail blah blah ... ok it sounds like that even if you have have ridden there.
So the translation trail ride is this ... climb climb climb level banana level down over climb climb climb down climb down climb down climb down level.
Which works out to be around 16 miles in 2.5 hours and 3 gallons of sweat.
I was looking for the roadrunner that I snuck up last week but I believe it was ordering stuff up from the acme catalog. Plenty of hawks circling the heavens though ... so that made the climbing um just as much of a bitch as I thought it would be.
The joys.
